Flowering Shrubs add beauty to your home with each and every bloom!  Flowering shrubs can be planted by themselves as specimen or accent bushes or planted in multiples as hedges or mass plantings.  Add a little color or a lot.  It's all up to you!

There are many different types of Flowering Shrubs.  We have Hydrangeas, Loropetalums, Gardenias and much more.  Below we will discuss some of the different flowering shrubs we offer and some creative ways they can be used in the landscape.

Because of their large, colorful, and exciting blooms Hydrangeas are one of the most popular flowering shrubs we ship. In the spring, Hydrangeas grow green lush leaves.  This deciduous shrub has a long bloom period and striking blooms.  Depending on the variety, they range from medium to extremely large balls of flower clusters.  Hydrangeas are great for specimens and mass plantings.  Trim off some of the showy blooms and bring them inside to display or arrange them and give as a gift.  Hydrangeas are very easy to maintain and require little care.

Gardenias are another great flowering shrub.  The evergreen Gardenia offers year-round interest.  During the late spring and summer months, Gardenias provide an abundance of fragrant blooms.  Keep this in mind when planning a spot for your new Gardenia. Your front door, backyard patio, or any spot you pass by frequently is a perfect choice.  Cuttings from Gardenias can be used in floral displays, adding a pleasant scent and creamy, white color.  Gardenias can be planted in a hedge or as a specimen bush.  Try Gardenias in planters on a patio for a upscale look.

Drift Roses and Knock Out Roses are popular flowering shrubs.  They are resistant to many diseases and pests and are no maintenance. Drift roses are compact and petite making them extremely versatile in the landscape.  Great for borders and in mixed perennial beds, Drift Roses add color and grace.   Knockout Rose grow larger than Drift Roses.  Knock Out Roses are ideal backdrops for lower growing shrubs and perennials.  Lovely in foundation plantings and as accents or specimens, you have plenty of options to include this rose bush in your landscape plan.  Knock Out and Drift Roses add bold pops of color and offer tons of blooms for 3 seasons!

Camellias are one of the coolest flowering shrubs for the southern areas.  The leaves on a Camellia can get very dark green and when the blooms pop, the color is amazing.   There are many different colors and types of Camellia to choose from.  Some varieties bloom in spring to summer and other varieties bloom late fall and winter.  Camellias are beautiful in formal and natural landscapes alike.  They perform well in shady areas which make them a great flowering shrub.

Azaleas are used in many landscapes around the world.  We sell many different Azaleas.  Our most popular Azalea is the Encore Azalea because it just keeps blooming and reblooming.  This flowering shrub comes in almost any color you can imaging and its blooms are so interesting to stare at.  Encore azaleas can be planted in groups or just mixed throughout the landscape in foundation plantings and mixed beds.  You will be amazed by how much these flowering shrubs bloom.

Butterfly Bushes attract butterflies and lots of them!  At our nursery, when we visit this section of plants, we are almost engulfed in butterflies.  Butterfly bushes come in all different colors and range from dwarf to tall.  The new dwarf varieties are becoming very popular and they do not require any maintenance.  They make great additions to any landscape and can even be used in containers.

We have many flowering shrubs to choose from so search by your growing zone to find the best bloomers for your area!  Then look for the size, color and look you want!  We know your will find the perfect plant for your home!
