The Rose Glow Barberry is a very versatile shrub. It is a great shrub for beginner gardeners and can be used in a wide variety of ways to meet you landscaping needs. This beautiful shrub has astounding, red colored foliage. When new shoots start to form, the colors vary from spotted red to pink blotched foliage. The showy, variegated leaves change from purple to pink, making this shrub have a “glowing” effect. The early spring brings little yellow flowers in clusters. Once the summer suns have passed the cool fall weather brings a vibrant red color to the foliage. Although, the Barberry loses it leaves in the winter, it does continue to bring showy interest with long oval shaped red seed pods that stay intact throughout the entire winter.

The Rose Glow Barberry has a lot to offer when it comes to your landscaping needs. It is great to be used as a foundation plant, borders, clusters, or even solitary. At full maturity this shrub can reach 4-5 feet high and wide. The Rose Glow barberry prefers full sun, but will tolerate partial shade as well as drought conditions. The sun brings this bush its red tones, so if planted in the shade it will lose color and will remain green with patches of red and pink accents. This plant is very adaptable to all soil types and retains its color all summer long.

The Rose Glow Barberry is a versatile plant that can adapt to most conditions. The colors displayed all year round make this plant pleasing to the eye during all seasons. The Rose Glow an extremely popular plant across the US and beyond!

Plant your Rose Glow Barberry in full or part sun. These hardy shrubs are adaptable to just about any soil that drains well. After planting be sure to water deeply 1-2 times per week in order for the roots to grow properly. Once established this shrub is drought tolerant and extremely low maintenance. Watering is generally only needed in periods of extreme drought. Applying 2-3 inches of mulch will help protect the roots in extreme temperatures and keep the soil moist. There is no need to prune this shrub. However, if you prefer a manicured look, prune in winter. Fertilize with our balanced, slow release fertilizer in spring. This barberry is salt, pollution, heat, and cold tolerant and disease, pest, rabbit, and deer resistant.

There are many uses for dwarf barberries like the Rose Glow Barberry. Plant in groups for a big punch of color, or you can use them as a border planting. When planting a border, space these barberries at least about 2 feet apart. They will grow together forming a small, colorful hedge. One of the two looks suspect

I am concerned because one was very frail looking upon arrival. (Leaf coverage was sparce and root ball was not firm). I shall see how it does but glad I have year warranty.
