Choose the right location and conditions for your new Orange Macrantha Azalea to thrive.

Spring and Fall are ideal times to plant Azaleas. However, if you avoid freezing and extremely hot temperatures you can plant any time of the year

Be sure your azalea is planted in an area that gets some shade and has well-drained, acidic soil. If your soil is alkaline, you can amend it. To acidify your soil amend with compost, elemental sulfur, or use fertilizers specific for acid loving plants. Mulching with pine straw or pine bark will help over time as they begin to break down, but are not an immediate solution. To improve drainage in something like a heavy clay soil, add compost and be sure to loosen up the soil well before planting.

Choose a balanced, slow-release fertilizer like the one we carry here. Fertilize in early spring to give the upcoming blooms a boost. You don’t need to prune azaleas, but pruning after they are done blooming can help encourage a bushier growth and renew an older plant.

Each plant we package and ship will carefully be inspected to make sure that you receive the highest quality plant possible, free from insect infestations and disease. All of our plants are living and healthy at time of shipping.

There are many factors that affect a plant. Weather, soil conditions, watering conditions, animal and pest damage, etc. Since we are shipping live plants, timing is critical. Most orders are processed and shipped within 1 - 3 days from checkout.

On occasion an order can take up to 5 days for processing. We plan each shipment to avoid your plants sitting in a truck over the weekend if possible. This means orders may be held until the following monday to ensure the shortest ship time. This delay will guarantee that your plants arrive the highest quality possible. Plants that specify shipping at different seasons will be shipped when they become available. ex. ships fall
