When planting your Azalea be sure you have the right location and conditions for your new plants to thrive.

Planting time: Spring and fall are ideal times to plant Azaleas. However, if you avoid freezing and extremely hot temperatures you can plant any time of the year

Sun: Full to part shade

Soil: Be sure your soil is well-drained and acidic. If you have alkaline soil, be sure to amend your soil. To acidify your soil amend with compost, elemental sulfur, or use fertilizers specific for acid loving plants. Mulching with pine straw or pine bark will help over time as they begin to break down, but are not an immediate solution. To improve drainage in something like a heavy clay soil, add compost and be sure to loosen up the soil well before planting.

Fertilizer: Fertilize with our slow release fertilizer in early spring to give the upcoming blooms a boost.

Pruning: You don’t need to prune azaleas, but pruning after they are done blooming can help encourage a bushier growth and renew an older plant.

The Autumn Embers Encore Azalea adds vibrant color to the southern landscape and beyond.  Encore azaleas are excellent for borders and mass plantings.  This evergreen shrub jazzes up gardens and mixed beds.  At 3 to 4 feet tall and wide at maturity this stunning azalea can even be used in foundation plantings. Try this flowering shrub in a container to add a bold pop of color to your entryway, porch, patio, or deck.  For borders or hedges plant about 3 feet apart.  Otherwise, plant about 4 feet apart to give your plants space in-between.

Each plant we package and ship will carefully be inspected to make sure that you receive the highest quality plant possible, free from insect infestations and disease. All of our plants are living and healthy at time of shipping.

There are many factors that affect a plant. Weather, soil conditions, watering conditions, animal and pest damage, etc. Since we are shipping live plants, timing is critical. Most orders are processed and shipped within 1 - 3 days from checkout.

On occasion a plant order can take up to 5 days for processing. We plan each shipment to avoid your plants sitting in a truck over the weekend if possible. This means orders may be held until the following monday to ensure the shortest ship time. This delay will guarantee that your plants arrive the highest quality possible. Plants that specify shipping at different seasons will be shipped when they become available. ex. ships fall

Exceptional Value!

I ordered the 1-gallon azaleas & received 3-gallon azaleas at no extra charge. Sweet! These two beauties are in 6-gallon planters at the top of our front steps. The flowers are lovely & I anticipate they will do well in their new home.
