You already know that the Ginkgo is one of the most recognizable trees, but did you know this Chinese native goes back over 270 million years?! What?! I know! It blew my mind too. I mean if that doesn't tell you that this is a hardy tree I don't know what will! Heck all of the Ginkgo's relatives are long extinct! Darwin would certainly recommend the Ginkgo. An individual tree can live as long as 3000 years! Yes, I mean 3000; that isn't a typo!

Fall lovers, eat your heart out! The Ginkgo welcomes autumn earlier than other deciduous tree when its lovely and unique, fan-shaped green leaves become a bright and bold yellow. Watch out your window for your Gingko tree to be the first to remind you that it’s PUMPKIN SPICE EVERYTHING TIME! Woohoo!

This tree can be used as a shade or an ornamental tree. Even though this tree can grow quite large, it is actually great for confined spaces as the roots are not invasive. The Ginkgo even works great as a street tree. It tolerates pollution, drought, and salt and is even pest resistant! Once established this tree requires NO CARE! Easy peasy!

Get your new favorite landscape addition today. History meets beauty meets no maintenance! What more could you want? Plant your Ginkgo tree now!

When planting your Ginkgo tree be sure you have the right location and conditions for your new tree to thrive. Spring and fall are ideal times to plant. However, if you avoid extreme temperatures you can't plant any season depending on your zone.

These trees grow in full and part sun and prefer soil that is well-drained. The Ginkgo can adapt to any soil and even clay as long as it isn't saturated. This tree can even tolerant varied pH ranges. Mulching will aid in keeping the roots cool and moist in hot environments and protected from extreme cold in colder zones. Add a layer of 2 to 3 inches of mulch. Do not allow the mulch to touch the trunk as this increases the chances of pests and disease. Ginkgos should be watered deeply about twice weekly until established. The Ginkgo is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize in early spring and when planting to give your tree a boost. Choose a slow release fertilizer. Ginkgo trees don't require pruning, but, if needed, prune when they are dormant to remove any dead, dying, or crowded branches, or to maintain shape. Ginkgos are pollution and salt tolerant so they are great street trees. Ginkgos are extremely resistant to pests and diseases.

The Ginkgo tree is a unique and exciting tree. With a mature height up to 60 feet and width around 40 feet, the Ginkgo is a formidable shade tree. Plant 1, 2, or 3 in your front or backyard as individual specimen trees or a small grouping or plant a row to line your backyard or a long driveway. Space your shade tree hedge so that each tree has at least 15 feet on either side. This tree makes a statement and offers cooling, energy-saving shade.

Each plant we package and ship will carefully be inspected to make sure that you receive the highest quality plant possible, free from insect infestations and disease. All of our plants are living and healthy at time of shipping.

There are many factors that affect a plant. Weather, soil conditions, watering conditions, animal and pest damage, etc. Since we are shipping live plants, timing is critical. Most orders are processed and shipped within 1 - 3 days from checkout.

On occasion a plant order can take up to 5 days for processing. We plan each shipment to avoid your plants sitting in a truck over the weekend if possible. This means orders may be held until the following monday to ensure the shortest ship time. This delay will guarantee that your plants arrive the highest quality possible. Plants that specify shipping at different seasons will be shipped when they become available. ex. ships fall

Too soon to tell

I only gave this a 3 star rating because it's too soon to tell. The packaging looked to be sufficient when I opened it, only to have several of the new growth broken off. Hopefully it did not lose too much, so that that the tree will survive. I did notice that the tree was not rootbound which is unusual to see in container-grown products. It made it very easy to identify the root crown to place the tree at the proper depth.
