Low maintenance, evergreen shrub that keeps blooming over and over again!

If you plan on planting a cluster of azaleas or are just looking to add color to your home, Encore Azaleas are the perfect choice.

The Autumn Belle Encore Azalea displays pastel, pink blooms from spring all the way to fall! This evergreen azalea will look great all year around. Flowers are prominent for spring and summer, while fall and winter gives way to foliage that is still intact. No more naked azaleas in the winter. Not only does this shrub look great all year around, but it is also disease resistant, pest resistant, and heat tolerant.

Thinking about planting as a hedge? It will look great. How about a cool s-shaped hedge with some smaller plants to give a nice layering effect? Encore Azaleas paired with Emerald Arborvitae for height can give your home a nice, warm, colorful look. Place 2 Emerald Arborvitae on each side of the windows and a couple of Encore Azaleas under the window. This simple design is low maintenance. Check out our Landscape Designers gallery for some landscape ideas.

Plant you Encore Azalea in full sun for more blooms. These shrubs will put on a flower show. We suggest planting in clusters for tons of color. They like well drained soil, so avoid saturated soil. These plants are extremely low maintenance. Use our special fertilizer and your Azalea will always be colorful.

How To Care for your new Autumn Belle™ Encore® Azalea

When planting your Azalea be sure you have the right location and conditions for your new plants to thrive.

Planting time: Spring and Fall are ideal times to plant Azaleas.  However, if you avoid freezing and extremely hot temperatures you can plant any time of the year

Sun: Full or part sun

Soil: Be sure your soil is well-drained and acidic.  If you have alkaline soil, be sure to amend your soil.  To acidify your soil amend with compost, elemental sulfur, or use fertilizers specific for acid loving plants.  Mulching with pine straw or pine bark will help over time as they begin to break down, but are not an immediate solution.  To improve drainage in something like a heavy clay soil, add compost and be sure to loosen up the soil well before planting.

Fertilizer:  Choose a fertilizer for acid loving plants.  Fertilize in late winter or early spring to give the upcoming blooms a boost.

Pruning:  You don’t need to prune azaleas, but pruning after they are done blooming can help encourage a bushier growth and renew an older plant.

Planting Directions

Step 1:

Unpack all of your plants right away! Look for the perfect location. Make sure you are planting in the correct light conditions.

Step 2:

Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball. Position your plant in the hole. Make sure the top of the root ball is slightly higher than the original grade of the bed. Also check to make sure it is straight from all sides.

Step 3:

Fill up hole with water before placing new plant in hole in order to saturate the surrounding soil.  Once the water is absorbed place your plant in the hole and water thoroughly.

Planting a shrub digging the hole

Step 4:

Mix the potting soil and the soil removed from the hole. Start by backfilling soil around the root ball. Carefully pack in the soil to remove any air pockets. Water plant thoroughly again until the soil will not hold any more water. This will ensure that your new plant will be a success.

Step 5:

Fertilize around your plant with the amount recommended on the package. Our special Fertilizer contains all of the nutrients to keep your plants growing and healthy. Repeat every 3 months.

Step 6:

Finish up by mulching around your new plant.  Apply 2 - 3 inches of mulch around the plant and plant bed. Mulch will help keep the soil moist and keep weeds out.

Step 7:

Keep watered with a hose every 2-3 days for 2 weeks. This is critical for plant survival. In the third week, begin to water as needed depending on the weather. Always check by placing your finger under the mulch to see if the soil is moist.

My Fav.
This is my favorite encore azalea. I have about 4 different ones planted in my backyard. They are all so pretty. I think I might get more. When are you getting the Autumn fire?

Not a very full bush
Not as developed/full as our other local 3 gal azaleas but wanted the color. Leaves pale green not darker green like our other new ones.
